    ? for experienced breeders

I've been pairing a pin x butter for awhile. I only have one confirmed lock back on Dec 19, at about 4 am when I checked on them after picking son up at the airport. Are there any signs to look for lock ups that I'm not seeing? Thanks for any hints.

I don't really know of any signs to look for, but I wouldn't doubt they have locked plenty of times that you don't know about. I don't stress too much about not catching locks since I'm not checking all the time. I used to check 3 times a day and I caught locks all the time, this year I hardly check so I haven't seen many locks. I wouldn't stress especially since you witnessed a lock.

Lock ups are pretty general. They could have locked for a couple hours abd you didnt notice or not at all.

Ya I'm sure they have too but I thought there might be something that happens that I could look for. The male I'm using was very shy when I got him his now calming down a bit doesn't freak out when his tub opens now like before.

To make you feel better I just got six fertile eggs the other day from a female that I only saw breeding once on December 27th. She seemed to refuse the male every subsequent time and I check all my pairings every morning. I know I could have missed some breeding activity but hopefully you'll get the same result I did. Good luck.

That would be awesome, and I'm still hopeful that she will go. I check on them daily even when they are not paired, only have 6 bps so easy for me to do. My het pied female just shed recently and looks to be starting to glow so stoked with that one.
