Interesting converstation about ball python breeding

Maybe this would have been better off in the off topic section but it was about BP breeding so I'm putting it here.

I just had a very interesting conversation with my mom that made me laugh. I told her one of my ball pythons was pregnant (saying she's gravid would have confused her more). I had to explain breeding to her because she didn't know how I could tell my ball python ovulated (Mom: What, did she tell you she ovulated? Me: ). The best part of the conversation was this part though:

Mom: So what do the baby snakes eat? Crickets?
Me: *laughing* What? Snakes don't eat crickets.
Mom: So what do they eat then?
Me: hopper mice or rat pups
Mom: *sounding disappointed* It would be better if they ate crickets.

Okay, so this might be one of those you had to be there things, but I still can't stop laughing about it. My mom doesn't know anything about snakes and she wasn't too interested in them when she came to visit, but some of the things she says just make me laugh.

If baby snakes ate ice cream and cake, everybody would have one

LOL. Next time tell her you OBVIOUSLY have to get baby snake food and spoon feed them while making squeeky mouse noises.

When I first told a friend of mine about ball pythons she asked if they were a new breed of toy pythons... I could tell she was thinking of chihuahuas vs great danes xD The stuff that comes out of some people's mouthes is hilarious.
