So we had a small lesser male (500g ish) paired with a small female (1200g ish) this season. We didn't have real high hopes for the clutch due to size as well as it being the first year either had bred. Well we got the clutch we expected. 4 slugs, 1 boob egg, and 2 that candled but looked pretty iffy. So we incubate then 2 iffy eggs and the boob egg. But again didn't have high hopes. Well about three days in the boob egg went bad and the other two darkened. Nonetheless, we continued to incubate the 2 iffy eggs. Well then about 30 days in our incubator began to fluctuate leading to the decision to purchase a new tstat since we are upgrading incubator size anyway.
At this we pretty much gave up hope and just left the eggs in there because I couldn't bring myself to throw em out. So today we decide to check on them and our fears were confirmed when we opened the door to two deflated brown eggs. Well when we opened the tub to empty it out, low and behold, there were to perfect little hatchlings staring up at us!!
After placing them into their tubs we not only have two healthy little hatchlings, we have one male normal and one female lesser!!
I gotta tell this made our day!![]()
