Flex Watt Question

Why is it that some flex watt is set an an angle (////) but others are set at a 90 degree angle (||||)?

I don't understand why the stuff that's angled is angled. It makes it much harder to work with as cutting it means you have insulate the cut. But the ones at a 90 degree angle I can just cut straight across the clear plastic without worrying about insulating exposed heating element.

I hope you guys understand what I mean.

lol I know what you mean but I dont know why they do that.

The black lines are the heating element. By putting the heating element on angles they are able to pack more heating element in less space.

It was made for heating pipes. Maybe you get more coverage when its cut at an angle.
