    How often do you clean?

Just wondering what substrate you keep your ball on and how often you clean it out? Do some substrates require more cleaning than others?

I keep most of mine on aspen. I spot clean everyday, change the water once a week and do a full scrub down at the first of every month.

I have a rack system with tubs and use indented kraft paper for substrate. I remove and replace it when it gets soiled. I also disinfect tubs once every 10 days or anytime they poop or urate.

Also, sometimes like this morning when my Pastel Lesser managed to get most of the contents of his water bowl outside of the bowl, a quick 2 minute tub wipedown and paper change will get everything back to normal.

I use unprinted newspaper so I change that out whenever they poop or pee. I disnifect the tubs when they are just nasty, and that is at least once a month that I do a full cleaning.

I use corrugated wrap, I cut 4 sheets per cage and just change out the piece that has been soiled. Super easy and very clean.

If you use a wood shaving/mulch/coco just substrate you will need to "spot clean" (remove soiled spots) then about once a month change out all of the substrate. This can be quite a task especially if you have larger cages.

I use paper towels. I just remove the soiled one and replace it with a clean one for my spot cleaning.

I do the same as Slim, except I use unprinted paper.
