    harlequin combos

Has anyone seen a pastel harlequin? I've seen the mojave harlequin. Or a lesser harlequin. NERD has a couple of odd looking things that are supposedly harlequin but IMO the whole point of the harlequin is the wide stripe and the neat blobby/square reduced pattern. I am putting my male pastel, male mojave, and black pastel with my female harlequin this season....I can't be the first to have done this is what I'm thinking... on worldofballpythons there is a black pastel harlequin that is not impressive.

I think that most haven't proved to be genetic.

nerd just proved it to (in their case) be genetic - and dominant or codominant. i can't tell with my black pastel x harlequin offspring from last year if its genetic or not - the babies look crazy good, but the dorsal stripe is only half in the best example. Hoping she'll go with my lesser male this year

Last I read was that the pastel and harlequin genes are not compatible, since, I'm assuming, the aberrant pattern of the pastel will mask the harlequin affects.
I'll let you all know later when I do the pairing though, eventually.

Never tried pastel harlequin but we did hatch out some harlequin coral glows that are really neat. The harlequin hasnt been worked with too much but if you plug it into the right combos it can make some very cool stuff. Next year we will try breeding one of the Halo boys back to mom and try to prove it codom.

    A normal CG as comparison.

These are really wicked in person, we will be updating the original "Halo" thread as they shed.

if pastel was incompatible with stripes, then pastel superstripe and pastel gstripe couldn't happen? i love that cg harlequin. i just saw cg in real life for the first time about a week ago. they photograph so terribly! the colors simply cannot be captured on film. my harlequin girl is going with my bee het pied and my lesser male, so we'll see who gets the job done. no ovy yet or anything. but here she is... https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater
