    New Housies in da House....

Some of ya for sure remember cute little bugger with brutal name "Marduk"...

Today hes long awaited wife "Ishtar" arrived...

Because i don't wanna stress her just snatched quick photo...

    Here she is:

Doing my research over last year i actually have doubts to the specie...

On beginning i was thinking that Marduk was stripe house snake (Boaedon lineatus).. but now looking on hes head shape.. and more important size.... Me and Guru of House Snake World Eric Paterson from Scotland we are not so sure...

Or hypothetical bet is that is slight possibility that i actually have Hallowel's House snakes.. They was described as similar in appearance to lineatus.. but because there is impossible to get picture of them form the net... that just speculation..

Either way that gonna be interesting breeding project.

Beside of that I acquired pair of black phase common/brown House snakes (Boaedon Fuliginosus).. called sometimes olives or purples (don't mistake them with true olive house snake Boaedon olivaceus)...

Quick Shots of both of them...

    Male Seth:

    Female Nephthys:

    Enjoy

    I really hope so to...
Both Marduk and Ishtar are wild catch snakes from Importer from Benin... who collecting his animal mostly in Benin and Ghana...
Those countries are in range of common/brown House Snake problem is Boaedon Fuliginosus is paternless...

Boaedon lineatus what i was thinking those are on begining is way smaller.. Marduk is right now size of female for that specie and Ishtar is around 50% longer... Boaedon lineatus have different head shape as well (more owal octagonal almost) and more "buggy" eyes... and what new research shows lineatus range is west not east Africa part...

Yhey cannot be Srtipe morph of Capensis (Cape House Snake) Face Pattern is totally different and Specie range don't go that far north..

I really thinking about contacting few African Uniwersities to put some light on that...
Question is: Are they gonna be so nice and even send response.. lol

I took them out for a while and there is such difference with temperament

Ishtar is calm.. not trusty 100 % but hand-able without any problems...

Seth smallest one is skittish and runner he try run away from handling but he is explorer as well...

Nephthys hmm that's a feisty one!!!!

She turn herself on the dime and with great speed...
I got tagged twice and she manage grab herself as well....

I learn new Thing those little creatures have teeth but with they size and definitely defensive baiting she wasn't even able draw blood...

    That's gonna be interesting

    THERE IS LITTLE UPDATE...

Ishtar Shed today... and She took Frozen Thawed Hopper... Strangle enough.. same situation like with Marduk first meal.. she don't wanna strike...
So i just put dead mouse between coils and leave her alone... hour later after i checked.. no mouse and small bulge in snake ...
Will try same tactics with Blacks tomorrow(they still don't take a meal)
If that don't gonna work.. will try live...
