Crystal ball? Pastel clown? Kharma? ANYBODY?
Hey everyone! New to the snake scene. I was just wondering what the cost on a crystal ball python would be? Did some research but couldn't find anything. I currently have a normal ball. And love her. I have about 6000.00 to spend on a ball python morphs. I have the intention on breeding and looking to get some females. I have my mind set on a pastel clown and kharma- mom super lesser, dad super phantom. Pastel clown 3000 the karma 3000. What do you guys think. Want to make the right investment. This is a crap load of money. Any advice from experienced breeders would be greatly Appreciated.

How long have you had your Normal? What kind of set up do you have for housing?
If you want to get into breeding you should start small and work your way up. There's a lot more to it than picking out 6K worth of BPs.
Make sure you have all the racks and husbandry equipment you'll need. You'll also want to set something back in case you need to take care of any Vet bills.
Honestly, getting boy snakes and girl snakes to do the dirty is the easy part. It's everything else that presents the challange.
Welcome to the addiction...

For that much money, pick a project you like and knock yourself out. You can pretty much buy everything in my sig line for that much and I have several projects brewing. You are asking a VERY generic question so you will get a ton of different answers.
I would not spend your 6K on 2 snakes. If you really must have one of the 3K ones, I would get it then invest the rest in a few to breed with it as well as top notch housing.

You should buy some nice racks adults, babies, and quarantine racks. Then buy a ton of some nice female morphs to breed. Then some boys to make the magic happen. Also keep food in your mind because it will get expensive, as well as electricity, bedding, and water bowls.

If you are looking at acquiring your snakes as an investment, you might want to heed the above advice and get several cheaper female morphs. You will have a much easier time selling less valuable offspring and can build a reputation. No offense at all, but I personally wouldn't buy a 5k morph from someone new on the scene with no reputation. I would, however, consider buying a $500 high quality morph from said person.
Also, with one female, you are literally putting all of your eggs in one basket come incubation time. Better get that down perfectly.

Thanks for all the helpful comments. I have constrictors nw enclosures and pro products radiant panels along with herpstat 4. Will be ordering boaphile rhinno racks. Thought about being able to sell the babies once I hatched them. My initial plan was to pick up a male and female pastel clown through garrick demeyer. Who is by the way awesome! Even asked him if people would even buy the babies from me knowing I have no experience. Also who has the money to buy 2000.00 or 3000.00 snakes. That was my concern. I just want to be able to pay off my first initial investment of 6000. Even if it means selling the babies for 1500.00 to 2000.00. I was even thinking just buying albino pairs. Or maybe even pied pairs. Those morphs seem to sell pretty easily.Any kind of Advice welcomed. Not easily offended. Thanks fellow herpers!

I would buy that pair of albinos or pieds to start with. See if you even like breeding. It's not for everyone! It would be a waste if you tried breeding with that upfront huge investment and then found out you didn't want to continue. If you do enjoy it and want to go on, you'll have accomplished 2 things with those albinos: you'll start getting your name out there and you'll have some experience to help ensure things go right with your more expensive investments later on.
Also, selling the babies for less than their market value is often frowned upon in this market. You won't gain respect from those important in this industry by selling $5000 snakes for $1500.
Quite the opposite in fact. Just some food for thought.....
