Yup clean everything really good with bleach, but more important for your little buddy give him a bath and make sure to soak his entire body under water to drown any that could be hiding under his scales. Look around his eyes and pits, I used a q tip to gently get the mites out the pits. And invest in provent a mite to finish them off!

make sure when you soak him, you do so in warm (low-mid 80's) water with a drop of dawn dish soap.

replace the substrate with paper towels, and keep the tub as minimalistic as possible until they are 100% gone.

Also keep a look out for the little a holes, your prob gonna want to bath your snake everyday they will drive him nuts. I also did flea powder on the floor all around where I keep my reptiles, cause who knows where eggs could be. Do all you can ie bathing cleaning tubs, flea powder floor until your PAM comes in.

I jus got rid of mites using the NIX meathod. Nix is head lice shampoo. What you do with it is mix the bottle with 4 liters of water (or i guess one gallon) then put some in a squirt bottle and spray it on snake, tub, and rack. Some on the floor wouldnt hurt too. It worked for me and is more readily available then PAM. Most drug stores have it. Its about 15 bux a bottle and makes one gallon of treatment. Enough for even the big collections. There are a few good youtube videos about it as well. Still bathe the snake first and clean the tub, then spray it everywhere. hope this helps.

Will that work for the 'red' mammal mites, too?

    My feeder mice have them.

I am in day 4 or 5 in the mite relocation plan for Fang. PAM works great I have not seen a mite in 3 days now except for the dead ones on the paper towels which have been changed. The Serp. has helped me with some great advice thnak you again. Poor Fang though is going through a shed , eye infection from a battle which does look better since rinsing his eye with warm water then agina with a Betadine mix.

3 problems that he is dealing with if you don't count him being mad about me changing his hides for the moment until he gets better and Fang is still being a cool customer. He is still while treating his eye with no fuss and has not been temperamental at all.

If I were him I'd me more upset that you named me Fang! J/K

Glad to hear the mites are under control!
