Hot side variance?????
We recently built a rack. Set up with flex watt and a herpstat intro. We ran everything for a few days before putting snakes in to fine tune temps and such. And I know that this could partially be the accurite reading a degree or so each way (waiting on laser temp gun, be here Friday), but there seems to be a range of 3-5 degrees difference in the tubs hot side. So they are reading between 88-93 ish. I am worried that the low one is only 88, but also worried that the hot ones are 92,93. It even got to 95 once before we put the snakes in. Is that too hot? How hot is too hot, where do you draw the line? Isn't 92 pushing it? It's the tubs in the middle that are warmer, maybe because of heat above and below it? Bottom one is the cooler one. Just don't want hurt my babies. Everyone seems to be doing fine, moving from hot to warm and vice versa. Ambient temps right at 80, humidity 54.

Is your Accurite reading spot temps or ambient temps.

Both. Got a probe on the tub right over flexwatt. That is the ones that are reading different. Ambients temps are 80 all the way down rack.

Anywhere from 88-92 degrees is perfectly acceptable. 95 in another story. Remember that the acurites (and temp guns) only have an accuracy of +/- 2 degrees so you have to keep that in mind.

Honestly I'm drawing a blank on why your temps are fluxing so much. Of course that's the indicated temps on the Accurite (which to be honest, I don't use anymore).
When you get your temp gun, shoot readings in each tub at several different locations to give you a surface map of the temps. Also shoot readings of the flexwatt to see if its reading consistantly across the length of the tape. Any discrepancies may lead you to the problem.

It was only 95 in one run before snakes went when we were adjust where the herpstat needed to be set. Thanks think I won't worry too much about the 88-92 then.

Yeah, I wondered if part of it was the accurites reading a degree or two each way. Thanks, good idea, will check all over tub when temp gun gets here. As long as 92 isn't to hot, I won't worry to much. At what temp is it going to be hot enough to burn them?

Anything between 93-95 is too hot but probably isn't going to cause any issues. Anything above 95 and you are in the danger zone.
As I said before remember that acurites AND tempguns are only accurate to +/- 2 degrees

True. But as long as the temp gun is consistanly inaccurate, he can still shoot a floor map and see if he has any hotspots in the tape.
