I am sorry but can I vent off some steam here. maybe yall can give me some frustration. So a few weeks ago my room mate moved into a house... From a one bedroom apartment to a house. So far here is what has happened since before we moved in. He asked a friend to stay with use... my question is he going to be able to pay rent... "yeah yeah yeah, he is looking for a job...." "Wooo back up, he is looking for a job... so on the first of the month I am paying part of his rent since we are splitting the rent down the middle?" roommate goes "Yeah but its all cool he will get a job... if not he has food stamps and will provide food" my comeback "Wait I can't get food stamps... I am a full time students and I have already gotten emergency food stamps and it hasn't been ten years, but me being a full time student, the state of Texas says I can't get it."

continue... he calls the land lord and ask the land lord if he can move in... Land lord says yeah he has to pay a $200. Our lease says we can only have guest for 3 days. Well we wont say anything, however lets not discuss the tattle tale lady that lives in the appartment building that we just moved out of where he just spent a week in a half that is on the same property that watches EVERYTHING... Oh it will be cool... Ok I give him a month

Keep in mind my roommate is on disablity and gets $675 a month, he wanted a roommate so he can have extra money, the house is the same owner on the same property as the appartment. though there was a no pet deal in the lease he is allowing me to have my reptiles here, and keep 300 rats in the garage, with no pet deposit. we are paying the same in rent but we have to pay utlities. Rent is $650 a month, split with just two of us $325, for 3 $216, for 4 $162... Who ever stays in the living room will pay less so the difference will be split to who is in a bed room. When I told Tommy (roommate) that Max's (friend) rent should be like $180 (if three people) plus a third of the utilies he was like no $150... anyways lets move on

Tommy "My ex girlfriend is coming back to live with me." me "Ok, does she have a job?" Tommy "No, but its cool I will pay her part of the rent" me "ok so we will split the rent three ways" Tommy "No, it will only be $50 more for me because it will raise the rent up to $700"

now I am not THAT great in math but 325 and 375 is not split three ways. so here is what I told Tommy "My rent needs to be at $233.33, you would be paying for both her and you which will come out to 466.66" tommy "no its cool, she will just stay in my room and I will pay $50 extra" me "Tommy, we split the bills, 3 people equals higher bills, this moving a 4rth person in. We split the groceries, 4 people eat a lot of food" Tommy "Yeah about that we are going to have to do our own food" "ok then we are dropping the rent split three ways" tommy goes "no no no, it will work, just see."

I finely told settled and told him, no one else is going on the lease unless the rent is split evenly, and the first time (I am on probation for two year), I walk into the living room and smell weed smoke or see weed laying around or see a bong or anyother weed smoking materials it is going in the dumpster. If she complains one time to me I will tell her I am paying $166 dollars for her rent, and the fist time anyone wants to get have a problem with me about something I ask can leave. I talked to the land lord and told him how I felt and he is in agreement on this.

continue to the past couple days. since Tuesday night. Tommy has had very loud and very annoying guest over. One set of the guest that where over was some people I liked and they had a job and knew about my probation and things I am doing. Max left pissed off at something and said he wasn't staying I talked to this other guy and said hey, let me talk to Tommy, you have a job, I know you and trust you. Next day, (nope Max is back and he is staying) Grrrrrr... He aint got a job! I swear I want to smack him upside the head sometimes. So Tommy has like six people over they are in his room smoking going in and out of the front door. this goes on for three nights. Blairing music at 1 am. my door is locked because Everyone found out I had snakes in my room, and wants to come see them... damn Tommy!!! not just that I am laying down, lights out, I am trying to go to sleep. barge in can we see the snakes? No! and who said you can just come in... Uh its Tommys house and he said I could come see your snakes. (I almost just pulled to my pants)

2 am I am out in the living room yelling "If you are not on the lease you have 1 minutes to leave through the front door." before the cops are called.

The lock on my door was one of those that you can turn with a butter knife or a fingernail. the next night I am at church, when I come home. my door is unlocked and someone I have never seen before sitting on my bed and has my 2200 gram female ball in his hand!!! I am like what the heck are you doing. reminder, I have had her now for a week, this is the one from BHB, I am running her through destress and letting her settle in. She wouldn't eat this week, so I am not missing with her at all (niether F/T or Live). I had to go buy a keyed lock for my door. I am not playing around with my space and my reptiles.

Then the last straw on those that are actually staying here, still 4 of us I just paid my rent today. I have bought a $150 worth of human food. Max bought a $100 worth of food, Tommy hasn't gotten his stamps yet, and his Girlfriend don't have anything to put in but set there the PS3 streaming TV shows from a web browser that is taking up all of my internet bandwidth that is keeping my lecture video for school from playing. I go out from my room unplugged to router, go to the kitchen and look at the huge pile of dishes in the sink that has been sitting there for 5 days. I flipped out and start cleaning them for 10th time in 3 weeks. then it dawned on me... There is 4 freakin people in this damn house and only one of them is not putting in on anything but has no problem eating everyone elses food, or smoking all my cigs. I held my mouth and just cleaned because I wanted all the dishes cleaned and put up.

So I came on here to vent.... thinks for reading or not but I feel better

It really seems as though it is time to look for another living situation. It doesn't seem that your roommates are taking you into consideration. I'll tell you this. If I came home and anyone was playing with my collection I would snap. I personally have spent to much time and money getting the animals that I have and to risk them because some idiot thinks that they are cool is ridiculous. What would have happened if your big female would have bit the person, not that the person would have been seriously hurt. Would the person report the incident to the landlord, or the police? Could they try and sue you for the injuries? You really never know.

Here is the ONLY way to deal with a situation where you have irresponsible people living in the same areas as you:

Call your landlord.

Get him to kick out anyone that isn't on the lease.

Don't share food or food costs. Only provide for yourself.

Keep your own set of food-wares in your locked room. Use them, wash them, return them.

If things are truly bad, call the landlord if you see drugs. Take pictures and/or video. Most states will FORCE the landlord to start eviction proceedings immediately, I'm unsure of Texas law however. Call the local police department if the landlord is of no help.

Start looking for somewhere new to move into and ways to get out of the lease.

Well if i were you i would be back in jail already bc if someone unlucked my room and took out my brand new snake i was trying to destress i would have calmly as possible put the snake back into the tub. Then connected my fist to their fast as quickly as possible as many times as possible until they died...
Well no really that would have been immature and not solved anything but i know it would make you feel better lol.
In all seriousness you gotta get max and the gf out or all 3 of them and find a new roomate. Id also buy a better lock for your door bc what that person did is like breaking and entering. If youre on probabtion, for what i assume is possesion, then if the cops come and bust in and theres weed on the table you will end up in jail. Theyre gunna probably try and nail you for it bc of the previous charges. I would get your landlord to kick out all 3 of them. Tell him about the weed, that definetly violates the lease lol. Anyways, good luck getting your situation resolved. Maybe think about buying a taser too so you can zap anyone that tries to break into your room while youre asleep lol.

no I am not a drug offender, nor have I ever done drugs. But I do get randoms. because tommy was first on the lease for 6 months by himself before I moved in over in the apartment, I can't just kick him out. Also because of the lease I just can't break it. I wanted to go to the land lord, but I wanted to be a secondary option. Tommy and I need to work out our own crap first. But I went through and I laid down the law, because I told him in a month if Max or his GF is still here I am turning in what it needs to be split down too. He agreed. I told him if you have one or two guest over in your room I don't care... Don't go advertise what is in my room. I have too much stuff in there that people can just pick up. I use to work in security, so I know some really wonderful products and got hold of a high hand doorknob with a high end locking system. my bed room door is 95% more secure then the front door. But the front door can be opened with a business card (not a credit card, a paper card). Which I am working on getting one of those that have the electric code lock on it. I put my foot down, I am not a run over. tommy allows people to step all over him. Thursday night one of the couples wanted to come spend the night, and Tommy said no, and they started telling him he wasn't a good friend and that is how he looses friends. I interviened and told them it wasn't just his desicion, and I am telling you no and if you don't like it you can leave now, no more visitors past 10 pm. And if you continue to get loud on my front porch I will have some friends escort you off property.

You should not be paying any part of his friend's rent. He has made a deal with his friend that rent would be covered until he gets a job, therefore he's making a deal with his friend to take responsibility to make sure that his rent is accounted for. You can assist him with this responsibility if you wish, and you may ultimately save some money by doing so, so perhaps it's worth it. But if you have a problem with paying rent for another person, you don't have to.

Regarding his girlfriend, the increased rent should be divided proportionately and you should be paying less rent for having another head in the house. She takes up space, she creates mess, she is another person that you have to co-exist with regardless of which room she sleeps in at night. Otherwise, you don't have any particular reason to want her living with you, so you have no reason to let her in if there's no incentive.

I think you handled it well. People like him just take any slack you give them and use it to choke themselves, then they complain that they're choking and need more slack.

If I were you I would just buy my own food and keep what I can in there since your room locks, if I had to buy a cooler or mini fridge I would. Id also would have gotten a better lock sooner. Tell him that if he doesnt regulate the rules in the house that you will move out and he will have to pay everything himself because no one else knows how to get a job. Tell the girl to get off her lazy butt and do something useful to everyone else. If she cant get a job she should atleast help keep the house clean since she is in no way helping out. I know how it feels..I lived with my boyfriend and his friend and his friends girl friend in a 2 bedroom apartment. No one knew how to clean no one knew how to do laundry. All they ever did was drink and play video games. The other girl would sit in their room and play on the computer. I went crazy and we moved out into our own place, it was so bad that we dont even associate with them anymore.

Oh ok well that makes it more complicated then but im glad to hear your starting to work it out. Glad to hear you got your door a better lock. His gf and that max really need to get jobs tho if theyre gunna be living there... Otherwise theyre just mooching off of u and tommy basically...

If you can back out of that lease and are interested in the pacific northwest, we have an extra.... rent would be $187 a month and we are all responsible with jobs... and we have a room dedicated to snakes and a large garage for rats
