    officially caught the BP bug..

So, I've been spending numerous hours looking for which BP to get next, which I have never dne before. Ive enjoyed my normals for a couple years and want to enter the world of morphs there are sooooo many to choose from, it can be mind boggling trying to figure out which one to get. The breeding bug hasn't hit me yet and won't for a few years but what would YOU get? I want a female so when the breeding bug hits, she is ready. And I highly want to throw in a dominant, like a spider or pastel.. any thoughts are welcome. My current budget is $400 for the female. Thanks!

    • Pastel
    • Spider
    • Mojave
    • Lesser
    • Pewter (they are a multi gene snake, and might cost more then $400 but I have seen some that are in your price range)

I was looking at hundreds of snakes a day trying to decide what to get... Originally I was thinking in terms of what would I want to breed (BPs that is).. In the end however I went with a Mojave because I just could't stop looking at them.. If your looking to make a profit Id look at proven breeders and Hets (to save some money) But if your looking because you, really honestly just like keeping them as a hobby; I would go with what you just cant stop looking at. That way you will be happy regardless of whether you decide to breed one day or just keep collecting.

Pastel is a codominant morph. Spider is thought to be dominant.
If you like pastels save up some more and get a female superpastel. That would be good to have. Once you feel like breeding even if you put her with a normal male 100% of the offspring will be pastels.
Or get a bumblebee female (spide x pastel)
    1.0 normal bp

Personally I say a lesser or a mojo....but it's all a matter of opinion. Get something that really stands out to you, something that when you see it your "wowed" by it.

He isn't dealing with recessive genes so there are no "Hets"

Get what catches your eye and eventually build around that...best advice. Inside of $400 that will be a more likely valuable breeding option in the future, I'd go with a pewter or pastel yellowbelly.

If you go with the Pewter I would go with a "black pewter" (to make a pewter you can either pair a pastel with a black pastel or pair a cinnamon with a pastel) I think that the black pastel x pastel pairing produces a better looking snake but that is just a personal opinion of mine.
