    Turtle Tanks at School?

My school runs Project Terrapin, which focuses on studying, breeding, and reintroducing diamondback terrapins into the NJ marshlands. So naturally, there are lots of turtles of various species all over the building, mostly donated/rescued sliders and terrapins that can't be bred or released.

But I noticed recently that a lot of our tanks seem too small or overcrowded for these turtles. But, I'm no turtle expert. So I was wondering what you guys thought?

    2 full-grown yellow-belly turtles and a full-gown red-belly turtle:

The hatchling bin. Only 3 hatchlings in here now, but there can be about 200 at once some times.

    7 - 8 full-grown diamondback terrapins.

One full-grown (and slightly overweight, but he came to us like that and is on a diet) diamondback terrapin:

    Two full-grown red-eared sliders

These are just the turtles in the turtle room. There are other turtles elsewhere in the school in similarly-sized aquariums.

These aquariums are way too small for these turtles.. its also very crowded.

Water also needs to be raised up much more than that.

I posted a thread on my turtles (i have terrapins too) and their setup awhile back.

I want to bring this up to my supervisor, but he's a science guy and will treat one person as an outlier. Anyone else wanna speak up here?

If i were you id get in touch with a big name turtle breeder, (im a snake guy so i have NO idea who are the bigname turtle breeders lol), and have him write a letter, email or even call and talk to your superviser. You could send him the pics too so he can explain exactly how to correct the husbandry issues.
