    Congrats on all the locks. That axanthic looks brown to me. I thought axanthics werent supposed to have any brown?

    Images: 1
    Axanthics lack Xanthin, which is yellow pigment. They don't lack the color brown, which can be the result of tyrosinase and melanin. Many axanthics look fantastically black and white as hatchlings, but brown out as they age.
    If a T- ball python that is not amelanistic ever turns up, it could be combined with an axanthic to make a truly black and white (and grey) snake.

    Granted, it's also not the best picture. I took one of the axanthic locks with my phone The others are with my camera, and have much better color. Even so, as a baby, he was a gorgeous grey and black, but he has gained some brown with age... thankfully the girl I am raising to breed with him next year still hasn't - hoping she'll retain some of the grey longer she was prettier as a baby

    I'm excited, just waiting now. Have had a few ovies, a lot of tail sucking, and my locks are getting fewer and fewer. had two more locks yesterday...
