man i am gonna be in some serious trouble on thursday. i am like an A+ when it comes to class work but when it comes to behavior and homework man it caused me to fail 3 classes this mid-semester. and when my mom finds out i am beond srewed. i know some of the parents on this site are ashamed of me. at the moment though i the only thing i am worried about is my mom's reaction. i mean she is really heavy handed. and when she finds out how little homework i have done and how much lying i have done to her man i am gonna get it. i hope she doesn't give me that dissapointed look. man that look makes me feel extremely guilty and depressed. either way wish me luck on not getting in too much trouble.

you know brian, if you have been lying to your mom then you kinda deserve some pretty serious punishment. there is no reason for you to fail classes just because you aren't doing your homework. nobody is perfect, and it's understandable if you don't hand in an assignment or two but seriously, do you really want to fail and have to take those classes over again?

yeah i know i deserve whatever is coming and no i don't wanna take those classes again(definately not)i just really don't wanna get in trouble. i know it sounds childish but when i get in trouble with my mom it really sux. Also this is like the 4th year where i have been in this predicament. i have tried everything(tv withdrawal,lending my bro my ps2 for a year, after school, i am even in pm school right now from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on mondays thursdays and fridays and i have managed to screw that up. idk wut to do. i know tommorow i am just gonna flat out tell wut is gonna happen on thursday so she can be prepared and i can get the yelling part out of the way.then on thursday wut ever happens,happens.

Brian - I'll tell you what my personal trainer tells me every day:

"If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten."

If the consequences of your actions are making you miserable, identify the "opposite" actions and take them.

I know it's easier said than done, but the end results are worth it!

Brian, I did pretty much the same thing when I was in school -- doing fine on classwork and generally As on tests, but just could not seem to pull it together to do homework until I was a high school senior. It was too late to help me much, but it did show me how much better I liked school when I did well in it (plus I had changed schools) and how I had really been messing myself up, and I did much better in college.

Instead of beating yourself up now, why not take things a day at a time? You can write down the assignments and bring home the materials for one day's homework, right? And if you can do it for one day, you can do it for the next day, and if you mess up, you start over again. I know you're bright enough to do the work from seeing you on here for so long, and you really do limit your own opportunities by sabotaging yourself like that.

im no A+ student but my 'rents are really into behavior and stuff and the biggest problem for me is that my dad is also my principal

well i have talked to my mom(well really she yelled i talked lol) she has come to forgive and she has told me to stay home for parent teacher confrence so she can try to get info from the teachers without interruption and also to learn how i am doing at the current moment(and also my big bro is going with her and she doesn't want him to beat the crap out of me) but at the current moment I've taken all of the advice that was told to me so far(from you guys and family). i have handed in all the assignments due so far for the last marking period. i am taking it one day at a time and i am really( listen i am REALLY) trying to work on my behavior but ther are only so much more smart*** remarks i am going to take from people. thnak you guys for the help.

I'm not sure what your goals in life are, but just know that they will be severely limited if you are not successful in high school. You can say, "well i know plenty of people that screwed up in high school, never went to college, etc and they are fine!" as much as you want, but you can't deny the fact that most colleges and technical schools will send you a rejection letter if you apply with a 1.0 GPA in high school.

I noticed in your sig that you play around with graphic design. Why not use that as a reason to get your grades up so you can pursue that? There are many opportunities for jobs in that field, but you must first build you foundation for that in high school. If you show you can be successful there, you will probably be allowed to pursue that at a higher level after you graduate.

yeah i know. to tell ya the truth i haven't reall found anything to give me a drive but i do wanna make my mom proud so i am trying. i just got a bad habit of screwing things up and i got the attention span about the size of my thumb nail (not an excuse just the truth) but trust me i am working on it

Veteranary school is tougher to get into than regular Med school believe it or not
