    Cool Just a Q?

    Hello everyone!

So I have a female 100% het caramel albino that eats good for a few weeks then don't eat for 2 weeks! But now she hasn't ate for 3 weeks and is lumping around her water dish!

Is she not eating because she is building follicles or is she just being normal for the time of year it is?(Breeding season)

    Thanks!

How old is she, how much does she weigh, has she been bred? I have some snakes that eat and then dont eat for weeks and then sometimes eat every week, doesnt necessarily mean they are building follicles. If yours is up to weight and old enough she may be building follicles. Lumping and bowl wrapping are good signs of building so thats a plus I suppose, are you planning on breeding her this year?

Correction...my female is a 2010! I picked her up from a person that barely took care of her and my male het caramel albino. She fed them a large mouse every 3 weeks or so....that is why the low weight for being a 2010! She wants to breed, but not big enough yet! Shes building follicles, but thought she would eat like crazy while doing so like my 1900 gram normal female that is also building follicles and breeding with 2 of my males. what do you guys think?

If she is building follicles she may feel uncomfortable and full so she may not want to eat a whole lot.

Sounds like normal behavior to me. Just make sure you don't breed her at that weight, it could turn out ugly. Other than that just keep offering food once a week. If she takes good if not it's pretty normal behavior for some ball pythons.
