Mr. Hogg Island boa.....why wont you eat?

I have had this snake since early oct...he weighs 95g.....he has never eaten with me except for when my friend force feed him 3 weeks ago. I have tried an assortment of prey in a variety of ways....it has nothing to do with temps or humidity or being over handled.....this dumb snake just wont eat...breeder claimed he had eaten several times which I believe due to his length and weight. I am at my wits end with this little bugger. Anyone ever have a super stubborn eater?

My question is, how are you offering the prey? I ask this because you might not be heating the prey enough, or giving it in the way the snake likes it.

I found out that my hog likes her prey facing directly at her face first. If I ever dangled it, she wouldnt strike. Could be possible that he likes it like that or you could tey leaving it in overnight. My hog takes it that way also. You could also try live

Also force feeding is pretty stressful for your animal, he might be stressed out.

This is assuming your husbandry is correct.

Husbandry is spot on, Ive tried ft and live. Ive tried leaving it over night. He just wont have it....Ive tried mice, rats, hamsters, live, and ft..

Where is the enclosure located? Maybe he's stressed being in a high traffic area or something like that? Ask the breeder what he ate for his first few meals. If everything were hunky dory I'd expect that baby to be eating with gusto.. Have you tried putting the snake in a small deli cup or paper bag with a live baby rat? This method seems to work pretty well when all else fails(short of assist feeding).

Nope never had a boa refuse a meal at that age.
I would offer a live adult or hopper mouse so he can see movement, every 5 days and keep an eye on weight.
