Held My First Adult Ball Python
So I went to my local reptile store and asked to hold a large bp since I have only held my baby. It was approximately 4' long. Not sure what I expected but I was amazed at how little it was. I've been afraid that when Baloo grew up she would be heavy and hard to handle but I can soooo handle her if she doesn't get any larger then the one at AZ Reptile.

They're definitely not a large species of snake, I would consider them "medium" girth wise in comparison to other species. I do think BPs get to a nice manageable size though, and I do enjoy handling my bigger girls and the smaller ones all the same

That's one of the reasons balls are such a great beginner snake...you know that their max size will still be manageable, even if you haven't dealt with snakes before. It still amazes me how big around some girls can get, though!

Now I'm excited about Baloo getting older. She is my first bp and I have to admit I was a little intemidated.

Re: Held My First Adult Ball Python
When my girl hit 4 feet, I realized I wanted more snake. Now I have a baby Dumeril that is a little over two feet, and a baby BCI that is currently in the hands of the FedEx fairy. She'll be here tomorrow! And I can't wait for my babies to get big! Lol. I needed a couple of big, strong cuddle buddies.
