    Glowing female question

One of my normal females is currently in glow, but the last two weeks she has decided to start eating again. Shes still glowing, no sign of ovy yet. Im a first year breeder and from all ive read, a female in glow is close to ovy and they typically stop eating until after they lay.

So now that shes eating again, do you guys think this is a sign she will reabsorb or should i continue to look for ovy and a clutch?

Also, some background- she went off feed for two months around june. About Aug she started eating well again and went back off feed late Oct once she started breeding and has stayed off feed until recently.

Let me know what you think please.

They glow for a long time, we're talking several months. It starts out somewhat faded and gets really bright close to ov, at least from what I've experienced. I would keep waiting since it sounds like she hasn't been glowing all that long.

Yeah, shes been glowing for about a month so far. Ive read they glow for an average of 4-8 weeks before ovy happens. I was just curious. Shes my pickiest eater, so ive been really shocked to see her eating the last two weeks while shes glowing like a lighthouse.

Some will eat right up until ovy, some will stop a while before, and Ive never seen but heard of females eating right up until they lay. Maybe yours just felt it needed that extra little meal to finish off the job. Good luck hope you get your ovy soon
