Burrowing and flipping the water bowl -_- Why?

So, Ziggy used to burrow through the bedding and under the water bowl once in a while, but recently it has been happening daily. She spills all the water, turns everything upside down, and I have to clean up the mess. Not so fun... lol

I did a bit of "googling" and found that being under the water bowl could mean that the temperatures could be high. The ambient temperature is around 75 and the hide with the heating pad gets to around 85 which I thought were ideal temperatures, so idk what's going on... Nothing has changed temperature-wise since I have this set-up.

I also saw that maybe the hide could be the problem, being either too big or too small. I changed it recently because she outgrew the old one, but she seems to have enough space to fit comfortably in there. So I don't think that it's too small or too big.

I've been thinking about velcro-ing the water bowl to the bottom of the tank, but what do you guys think could be the problem?

Edit: Also, could humidity be causing this? It's kinda hard keeping the humidity up since I have a screen top... It's usually around 50%

You can try putting a towel over half or all of the screen top to help keep humidity in.

You can try tin foil on the part of the screen where there is no heat bulb. Just leave enough space for the heat bulb and ventilation.

Ok so I covered about 80 of the screen with some plastic sheet I had and I put paper towels under the water bowl to make clean up easier just in case Ziggy decides to flip it again. I'll get back to you guys if the burrowing and water-bowl-flipping continues.

I put up the humidity to around 70% btw

Average humidity should be between 40-60. I only raise mine to 70 when going into shed. I would suspect the new hide, change, or too hot. As long as its snug enough, she will probably adjust. How big of a tank is it? Does she have a hide on the cool side?

My boy only goes under news paper when he is in shed or right after meal. Normally he stays in his hide and move around the tub at night.

Maybe he likes doing this? Snakes really do have quirks. Our guy was moving things around his tank And burrowed under his paper towels last night while exploring.

IN the water bowl means temps are too high or mites. Not under it.

The humidity has stayed at around 70% and still no burrowing/water bowl flipping

She has no hide on the cool side because it's a 20 gallon tank and I cant fit a second hide... But I don't think that's the problem. (waiting for her to grow a bit more before getting the 30 gallon tank)

And yea I also think she likes exploring around once in a while but when it happens every day, it seems kinda weird... You do have a good point about the temperature though, why go through the trouble of digging when they could just take a dip. Maybe she was flipping the water to raise the humidity all along.
