My python (raja) has been acting diff
My python has always been extremely active at night time. No matter if we had him out of his cage or he was still in it. but for the past week and a half he has been in one hide the entire time. and even when my girlfriend took him out he would to go directly to a dark small place and when my gf went to grab him he even hissed at her. (witch is odd because hes never hissed at her before) now i looked on other sites and stuff and i found some people with the same problem. but the answers they got were things like "hes probably about to shed" or check the teps, or the humitity, and asked if he has eaten. well my python just finished his shed about 2 weeks ago. and he just ate on friday. and the temp on the warm side is 90 and cold side is 73 with the humidity and 55%. so i was just hoping either someone could help me figure out if something is wrong with him. or if i need to change something. and even if other people are experiencing the same type of behavior. all post appriciated hope to hear from everyone. Thanks

I think the cold side temp is too low but I don't know if that would impact the snake that dramatically.
How old is the snake and are you sure it's a male?
[could be breeding season "pissiness"?]
My het Clown male breeder is being jerky but I ignore his 'tude.

Yea its a little low but its a 4tf long cage so there is a good range in temp. And no we are not sure its a male that was just the best guess that we were told. and im not positive how old he is but think he is around 7-8 months.

Sounds like you have him in quite a large enclosure, and that he's still fairly young. I'd consider housing him in something smaller. 4ft long cage is QUITE large...even for an adult bp its pretty big...
73 is too low no matter how large the enclosure is.
What are you feeding, and how often?

Our guy goes into hiding each and every shed cycle. He pretty much stays in his hide until the shed is over unless he eats or gets a drink of water. Now... he doesn't ever get pissy per say but you can tell that he's miserable.
Yea they told us a 4ft cage was "to big" but we decided that if he seemed to have problems that we would put a divider in the middle and make the cage smaller. But iv had him since begining of august and he would rome his hole cage using all the hide I have in there (althogh his fav place was one right in the middle of the cage) he just ate on friday. And yes I have been threw a few sheds with him. But it is interesting that u said urs stays in one spot unless he comes out to get a drink of water cuz that's what mine is doing. But heu just gotwhat done shedingthis about 2 weeks ago. O And the spot he is staying is a new hide I put in on the cold side n he never comes out for al

If the hide is a new one is it identical to the others? He might be choosing security over temps if he prefers that one.
A hiding bp is a happy bp. Constant roaming is usually a sign of stress. How cluttered is the cage?
Can you post a pic of your setup?
