    Sorry for the stupid question....

What exactly is a "dinker"? Is that a certain pattern or color?

Anything that looks cool and is not a proven morph that you want to try to prove out. That is my understanding.

It's the term people apply to "normals" so they sell faster. Labeling something a dinker sure does seem to sell them though so I can't fault the business decision. I think some people try too hard to find something that isn't there. It's just like the "What morph?" threads where people are convinced a snake is a certain morph when it truly is a normal. In the end the term is only as important as the person raising, feeding, and breeding the snake deems it. I just take it with a grain of salt. Most the ones labeled seem to be normal variations of wild type ball pythons. Once in a great while you will see a snake that truly deserves the term.

    Regards,

    B

Re: Sorry for the stupid question....

So basically just a normal that somebody thinks has potential to produce something else/cool?

If you search the term dinker here, you'll find lots of threads on the subject. Some cases you wonder what the seller/buyer sees in the animal, other cases your eyes will just about pop out of your head and you wish like heck you had seen that snake first.

The term dinker to me is just that. An unusual looking ball python you dink around with breeding, to see if it's odd looks can be passed on genetically.
