So I recently got a beautiful female Cinny at a show. Put her in a QT tank and she seemed to be fine, However I noticed that she almost always held her head up away from the ground when she moves or even when she's at rest.

The guy I got her from said she could be kind of picky when she ate and that he had assist fed her a few times, she's roughly 90 grams. I let her settle in for a week then offered her a live fuzzy which she ignored. After two more weeks I assist fed her a FT fuzzie which she took without a hitch.

After a month she seemed fine so I moved her into my rack in a 6.2qt bin and within 24 hours I moved her back into QT!!!

I went to check on her the next day and she was gaping. Not gasping or anything just sitting with her mouth open and i don't see any sheeting or extra mucosal buildup in her mouth or around her nostrils, but to me open mouth breathing is a pretty solid sign of an RI.

However she hasn't pooped since I got her and she's looking a little ballooned up. i don't feel any hard lumps just feels like she's full of air. i'm wondering if maybe her gaping is a sign she constipated but I'm afraid to soak her in a tub of warm water if has an RI starting. I'm trying to get my hands on a Nebulizer so I can start her with an F10 treatment before she goes in to see the Vet. I'm calling my Vet tomorrow to get her an appointment for Monday but wonder what I should do in the meantime???
