Worried about wood...

I just had to move, and the house we moved to has hardwood floors and wood accents throughout, will this be an issue for my bps? I know Pine is toxic when used for substrait but I dont know if its bad for them just being in the presence of it. None of the wood is pine its mostly oak. Am I going to have a problem?

Shouldn't be a problem. Just because there is wood/pine in the area, it should not affect the snakes. It isn't like they are crawling on it and what you are describing probably has a coating of finisher over it.

Even if it was pine, it would not be an issue................even if it was substrate in the enclosure.

Kiln dried pine bedding and processed pine furniture in your home pose no threats to your snake. The perceived toxicity of pine is about as overblown as the unfoounded concerns over feeding snakes on loose substrate.

There are phenols in all types of wood that can be irritating to any living creature - aspen and processed paper products included. With the exception of cedar, the majority of wood bedding products are safe for your snake.

The pine bedding you see in most pet stores is almost always kiln dried. It is safe for your snakes.

The hardwood floors prolly have a clearcoat finish over them so you would be fine but like skip said its a wives tale.

I asked due to the fact that we just moved in and with the floors being Oak and I have no clue the other types of wood that make up all the trim and wall panels, I just didn't want to take the chance of causing harm to my bps. It would break my heart to know I had brought them into a place that could kill them. Thanks everyone for helping answer my question. Would any of you know the safe time to bring in bps after bug bombing? Its been a week since and I want to bring my babies home already...lol
