Eating while breeding
On november 25. i pair my het albino and from november 12. they didnt eat. Im giving them 3 days together/rest but i never saw copulation, maybe because im not at home so often. Yesterday i offer my male ft rat and he took it. Today i will ofer pray to female because she looked hungry last night but i had just one spare rat that male took. This is my first time breeding and i dont know is this good or bad? Does your BPs somethimes eat while breeding?

My females eat very heavily during breeding season, meanwhile, my males hardly eat. What are the sizes on the snakes? I would definitely feed the female before the male though

I don't believe that's possible, I have never seen a ball python lose 200 grams in one month.
A female that doesn't eat well during breeding is bound to throw slugs...

Did she take a large bowel movement? What kind of rats are you feeding(size & live/pk/ft)? Also do you have another male who may be large enough to breed? If so, take his sperm plugs and wipe them down her back when you try to breed and also maybe try and knock the humidity up in the tubs when trying to breed them by either misting or just tipping the water bowls.

Yea, probably due to a large bowel movement or lots of very large urates. Definitely agree about the not eating thing though.

Well yeah, there is actual weight loss and loss from poo'ing, lol.
One of the worst rumors out there is that the snakes don't eat while breeding, my females eat me out of house and home for several months before breeding, I would be very disappointed if any of my females didn't eat really good before breeding season.
Luckily that hasn't been an issue for me, we threw over 80 eggs last season and the only bad eggs came from a female that we purchased that stopped eating shortly after breeding started.
She threw 5 eggs 2 of which were slugs, otherwise no slugs.
Feed your females and feed them well before breeding them

Re: Eating while breeding
im sory but i dont understand this sentence '' Did she take a large bowel movement''
when she was eating it was frozen rats 150-60g and male 100-20g. every 7 days.
I dont have another male but will try to mist the tub when i pair them again.
