my uth doesn't seem to be hot anymore

I have 2 zoomed UTH under my glass tank. I have aspen bedding. I checked the above the glass where the UTh lays underneath to see if the hot spot felt like ~93degrees and it did not at all. If anything just room temperature. My acurite which is located right next to where i touched read 93 degrees...

Is there something I am missing?

I would assume the acurite is more accurate than your touch. Did you slid your hand under the tank and feel the UTH directly to see if it felt warm?

Temp guns are pretty accurate with the temps if you have one. However, I can fell mine from underneath and feel the warmth. May need to replace them.

I would trust the Accurite more then your hand. Human body is 98.6 so anything less then that feels cool.

Just to add to this^ while our internal temp is 98.6 our skin in most places runs around 90-92, might be why bp's like hanging out on us sometimes. So neither cold nor hot to the touch could be right around 90. Just sayin' . . . .
