It's looking like I will be moving from Vermont to...Arizona. With 11 snakes, a dragon, 4 amphibians and 3 cats. And my boyfriend.
I've moved my snakes small distances, a few miles at most. Usually already had their new home already set up, or they are out for 2 hours, max.
This time it's very different. Driving 2600 miles is an entirely different story. It's going to take anywhere from 5-9 days (Uhaul's can't go 90.) to get from here to there. They won't have new houses set up there, and there is no way that I'm shipping them - I don't have anyone that I know well enough that knows how to take care of snakes that I can ship them to.
I'm really looking for the easiest way to move them without too much stress. I'm probably not going to be able to keep their temps at normal for the whole trip - though I already do have tons of chemical heat packs, the ones used for shipping.
I've got a couple ideas, but none of them seem very comfortable.. :/
I've got months to plan for this - to figure things out and try to make it as secure as possible. If anybody has any ideas, I'd be ever so grateful.
