Q? About ASFs & Normal Rats??

Happy Wednesday everyone....

Sooooo my ASFs and Normal rats have been breeding like crazy and I have a bunch of new babies...I know there is speculation on when to wean these babies!
So I am going to ask to see what I get...How old are you guys weaning your weanlings from their momma? There are a few that I want to keep for breeding, but the rest will just be food...WHAT DO YOU GUYS DO?

I usually wean at around 27 days but if its a large litter and I haven't culled from it I'll let them stay with momma for 30 days or more.

4 weeks is a safe bet for most litters to start weaning. As stated above large litters could stay a few days longer as long as you observe them eating regular food enough.

I'd say pick the healthiest looking ones and keep them for breeding, the rest I'd use for feeders. For my ASFs I like to hold back the high white ones just because I like to :p
