    Astroturf

Ok, I am officially over the mess of coco husk substrate and, even though it is less pretty, I think I want to switch to astroturf. I think it would just be so much less hassle, and in the realm of less-hassle substrates (newspaper, paper towels, astroturf, etc..) I think astroturf is the most aesthetically pleasing. (My viv is in my living room, so I prefer it not to be an eyesore, but I do have a lot of plants and driftwood in there, and of course, the needs of the snake are the most important, and I keep seeing her swallow coco husk with every feeding and I just don't think it can be a good thing and I would rather not stress her by feeding her in a different tub. So, time for a switch.)

So, for those of you that use it, where do you get it, how do you clean it (or do you just throw it out after it's soiled)? If I just run down to my local fabric store and buy a few yards and cut a few pieces, will that do the trick? Or are there any special turfs for reptiles that are safer?

Also, does it conduct heat any differently? Do you find you need to turn your thermostat up or down? Do you ever find that your snakes find a way to crawl under it and get too close to the heat? Or crawl under it just to be obnoxious and hard to get to?

How do you solve humidity downsides associated with a substrate that doesn't hold moisture?

Lots of questions... sorry. Just want to make sure it is a good option before I make the switch. I appreciate your input! Thanks!
