Ignorant is the word you are looking for, I believe. Most probably due to bad pet store advice.

The sad thing is, he probably has just never had someone teach him how to properly care for his snakes. He probably just wanted a snake (or two) and his parents obliged assuming there was nothing more to it than owning a cat. I begged my mom for a snake from about the time I was six and she refused to let me because she is terrified of them. I am actually glad looking back, because as a child, I would have had no idea how to care for a snake and the snake would have suffered for it. Now in my twenties, I did the research necessary and knew that a snake is not a pet you get to look cool.
All we can do is teach our own kids about the challenges and responsibilities that come with owning a "non conventional" pet. If any of my children ever want their own snake, or gecko, or fish tank, I plan on sitting down with them and together doing research about what the animal needs, how long the animal can be expected to live, and the amount of daily and weekly time that needs to be spent caring for it. After learning what the animal needs, I will let my kids make a decision if they are up to the commitment, and impart to them the importance of being vigilant about husbandry. The snakes that we have all adopted will live or die by our dedication to or neglect of our husbandry. They are not wall art, and they are not there to make us look macho. They are living art and living things that depend on us for everything, and anyone not willing to or not knowledgable enough to give them everything should never have them.

Re: kid on youtube is...
I don't know - the boy seemed to show respect for his reptiles, the cages looked clean. I don't know from the video whether he had the appropriate heat source but I would have to guess that he does because his one snake was a few years old so he must doing something right.
Just saying - it's kinda harsh to attack his husbandry on assumptions. I did wonder if that aboreal tank was glass or screened but honestly couldn't tell from the video

I don't know about belly heat, but he showed where he lived at the beginning of the video which is south Florida ( Ft. Lauderdale ) which would probably suggest that the temps and humidity are decent enough. The taller cage with the bigger normal was a screen cage.
I do agree that it looked like he kept things clean. I wouldn't worry too much as this video was posted in 2009. He does have recent activity on his account, but all of his more current videos are of quads and such. Chances are he probably doesn't even have them anymore.

I sent him a message and a sincere, polite invitation to join BP.net
Hopefully he'll accept.

Obviously no one noticed he lives in Florida, his animals looked taken care of. Maybe we should try and ask questions or offer advice before breaking out the pitch forks and torches....just sayin!
