    Hog Island Boa questions

Hi everyone...I will be getting a hog island boa soon, and I would like to ask a few questions. There aren't too many caresheets for them on the internet.

    1. What tempereture should the be kept at (ambient and basking)

    2. Can you tell a RTB hog island cross from a pure hog?

    3. average size for a female

    4. what size enclosure for an adult hog

    Thanks you and happy holidays.

    For our girl

    1. Ambient temperature is 78 and basking is 90.

    2. Ask the breeder or buy from a respected breeder. Hogs come in different shades so it would be hard to tell just by looking at one, especially a baby.

    3. Our female is about 2.5 years old and she is pushing 5ft long. Her growth has definitely slowed down and even if she reached 6ft, she still would be manageable for me (female) to handle on my own.

    4. Ours is in a 40 gallon breeder and I expect she will stay in that as an adult.

We love our girl and expect you will love your hog as well!

I am getting my first hogg tomorrow and I am very excited to add one to my collection. I'm not sure how difficult it would be to identify hogg crosses, thats why I looked around for a while and compared for quality and discussed lineage with the breeder. I'll post a pic when I get her.

    1. Our tems are 80 with 90 at the hottest spot

2.The only way to tell is by making sure that you get it from a reputable breeder

    3. A female should get 5ish feet, but can get larger.. we have a male that is pushing 6 ft and he's a pure hog.

    4. I would say minimum for an adult should be 2ft X3ft- it would really depend on the size, but that is what we have our male in and hes content in it... though he could probably use one that is slightly bigger. (I really think that a 40 gal is really too small for an adult hog island, I know that they are a dwarf boa, but they are a very large dwarf...)

    cant wait for pics!
