    A Little Boasting...A Little Holiday...A Little Disappearing...

    Hey Gang!

Just thought I'd share some stuff that's going on.

First off...I want to boast a bit about my husband. He is currently attending Air War College here in Alabama. While here, he was hoping to find out if he would be picked up to be a Group Commander for his next assignment.

Turns out, he was not picked up for Group. Instead...they skipped him right over Group and told him he will be the Vice Wing Commander for the 688th Information Operations Wing out of Lackland AFB. It was quite a surprise, and a giant step forward for his career.

He also pins on his full Colonel's rank on Feb 1st.

Sometimes I whine about all the moving we have to do. Sometimes I get really frustrated at the limitations I must have on my own dreams and future aspirations because of his career. But seriously, all that pales in comparison to how proud I am of him. Military life IS hard...but it's also exciting and rewarding. And being happily married to a man who is so damned good at it is exhilarating. There are times that I seriously think I'm ready for him to retire...but mostly I really don't want this ride to end anytime soon!

On a different subject...we will be leaving town in a couple of days to drive to Texas to spend Christmas with family. I may pop in for a few minutes at a time from time to time with my phone or laptop, but I won't be spending much time online, I'm sure.

T-Shirt sales are now on hold until after the Holidays.

If I don't get to say so later....I do wish for everyone here to have a brilliant and joyful Christmas and Holiday Season!!!

    Congratulations!

Hey, can I ask how you manage all that moving with your snakes? I assume it means you have to limit your collection to a pretty small size, just for starters?

    Thanks!

And yeah...that's one of the limitations that I whine about the most. I've only got five snakes. We had a bearded dragon for awhile, too. I've got a small four-drawer rack that I take with me when I move cross country. The snakes get bagged and placed in a travel tub. They'll sleep in that as well, if I have to overnight somewhere along the way. When I get where I'm going, I set up the rack, put the ball pythons in it...and the milk snake gets the whole travel tub to herself until her tank arrives with the household goods.

It makes driving cross-country tricky because you can't really stop anywhere during the day (we almost always move in the summer time when it's freakishly hot). It's a lot to juggle and coordinate because every move is different and has its own new set of challenges to work out. But it's all worth it in the end.

I hope to be able to add a few more critters over the next couple years, but until he retires, my collection will always be very small.

Goodness, I put my own thread in the wrong forum. Meant for it to go in Off Topic.

Anyhow...thanks for the kind words, everyone! Hopefully we'll get some decent pictures of the promotion ceremony that I can post up.
