    Got My First Bite Today!

Lol. I was at the Lone Star Reptile Expo earlier, and was holding a gorgeous little female carpet python (I don't know diddly about carpets, but she was labeled as a platinum, was a pretty bronzy and yellow, and was selling for $60).

Suddenly the little thing nipped me! She was so tiny her teeth didn't even nick the skin, and I only knew she did because my finger suddenly felt wet from the inside of her mouth. She made me jump, though!

Is it sad that I totally wanted to get her, just because she's fiesty? Sadly, wasn't allowed to bring her home, but she was a gorgeous little girl.

Lol. I count myself lucky that my first bite came from a snake too tiny to even hurt. She more surprised me than anything, as she had been perfectly calm (if eager to explore) before that.

Silly snake, you want people to LIKE you!

HAHA! Yeah, my girl has never actually succeeded in biting me, but she has tried a few times, usually on feeding day, so she doesn't really mean it. But that strike will just make you wet your pants, it doesn't matter if they can't break the skin, or if you know it won't really hurt even if they do, they are just so darn fast you can help but jump out of your skin! haha!

Because I'm Not Allowed to have snakes where I'm at (my job doesn't pay very well, so I'm living with my parents at the moment, and my mom does NOT do reptiles). Otherwise I would have taken her home in a heartbeat, and done quick cramming on how to take care of carpets.

Also, uploading the pics from the expo to photobucket as we speak, will be posting them soon!

There's like over 150 of them, so it's going to be a SERIOUS DUW warning.
