This is how we do it! How do the 50+ snake handle their cleaning?
So we have about ten snakes. Was wondering if anyone has a faster method to cleaning a snake tub? We have a water bowl, a hide and we use newspaper to cover the bottom. We clean them everyday by taking the newspaper out and spraying with this vet solution and wiping it dry. When they take a dump we take the tub out and wash it with soap and water. This becomes time consuming after a while. Just wondering what the people with 50+ snakes do when they clean their tubes
Thank you much

I only clean if there is a big pee or a poop, I spray everything with a bleach solution then rinse and dry. Water gets changed every other day.

Why are you cleaning them everyday? I only clean mine when the snake defecates in it.... Am I just reading this wrong? If I'm not you must be going through a ton of new paper....lol

I don't clean my tubs everyday. Once a week or when they poop. I use listerin to clean my tubs. It sanitizes and smells good I also don't use hides. With over 40 bps, it takes me about an hour to do my weekly cleanings.

I agree with everybody else. I only clean the enclosures in my rack when they urinate or defecate. Even then, I might not spray down and rinse the tub every single time they do depending on how messy it is. If its just a poop or a shed, I just change the newspaper. At the least, I clean them out completely every other week or so. I have a couple tubs with cypress in them as well. I spot clean them as they defecate and change the bedding and clean those tubs every 3-4 weeks.

Re: This is how we do it! How do the 50+ snake handle their cleaning?
I don't have a sink in my snake room so I fill a bucket with hot water and a sponge. I take out the newspaper, Spay the tub with a 10% bleach solution, rinse with the sponge and then I take the water bowl to my sink and wash it. I'm a firm believer in a clean water bowl I clean about 60-80 a week this way!

Tubs get wiped down thoroughly with 1:100 F10 solution when there is a mess.
I used to scrub each water bowl in the sink with anti-bacterial dish soap, but I got nervous about using the same sponge for each bowl. Also, anti-bacterial dish soap is apparently worthless. Now I'm just putting them through the spare dishwasher with 1/8 cup of bleach once a week. Seems to be working okay.

I go through and spot clean daily. Which means pick up any urates and poop. If its smeared all over the place I wipe up with f10. Weekly bedding change. Bi weekly disinfect.

I spot clean every day, then I do a full substrate change + tub sterilization every two weeks.
I keep my babies on paper towels, and they get a full tub sterilization every time they make a mess.
