When to assist feed?

OK, here's the scoop, Just aquired 2 hatchling Eastern Milk Snakes and a hatchling Eastern Hog-nosed Snake. All three are undersize and underweight. The 2 milks are only an eighth of an inch at the widest point. The hoggy has only eaten thumbnail toads which aren't available this time of year. I want to switch it to pinkies. I need advice on all three. Any and all advice is welcome. Thanks.

Well, the little hog died this morning. I'll be trying to feed the 2 milk snakes pinky legs today.

Sounds like the little guys need to be force fed, unfortunantly my knowledge of force feeding is very limited. Search force feeding snakes on google, there should be a video by a professional on how to do it properly without hurting or killing the snake.

'm So sorry to hear your snake died... loosing one hurts, even if you have only had a few days...

Now.. to the other snakes. You said they ate, that's good. Don't pile pinky after pinky down there throats. My experience with milksnakes is little to none. I've helped take care of a few but don't own one.. when I have a snake that was off feed I don't keep giving meal after meal to them. If they're really underweight give them like 2 or 3 days them feed agaian. This is how I do it. Some people do longer, other shorter, I feel like it helps to let the first meal digest a bit, before another goes "down the line" good luck with them though!Y

Only one of the little milks has eaten and it ate on it's own. The other one is still being obstinant. Thank you for the advice, I'll give it a few days and try again.
