Explain to me the difference between blood and borneo

Bloods are Python brongersmai.....commonly called Red Bloods. These also have a yellow phase. These come from Malaysia , sumatra. The best of these pythons are brilliant red in color and are in high demand.

Borneos are Python breitensteini......These come from one place in the world, the Island of Borneo. These are called Borneo pythons/ Borneo short-tailed pythons. Borneo pythons often have creamy golden yellow sides.

There is another short-tailed python called the Sumatran short-tailed python. They are also known as " Black bloods" although they are not blood pythons at all. These snakes are prized for the dark color they can attain. Some individuals will become nearly solid black.

These 3 species used to be considered one species but are now properly and formally classified as 3 distinct species.

I do NOT claim to be an expert here, as I only have a Borneo python.
Maybe some of the keepers of bloods and sumatran short-tails will add to what I have posted. Hope this helps.
