Grah! Making me jealous. I can't wait to get one next summer. I want to get one of the 'giants' or hybrids from Varnyard.
Blah.
And by the way, very cool tegu!

Re: Dinosaurs ruled the earth!
Ms Bean is an extreme giant from varnyard.
She did start out with lighter color, and is still notably white. Those pics have the shadows turned up. She is a fine tegu, but nothing like some of the extremes I have seen. Not so gigantic, but its a girl after all. I wouldn't buy into the extreme giant pitch if I could have saved the money, they really are the same animal. I guess there are some physiological differences between the chacoan and "reg b&w", but don't count on it looking like the picture on varnyard's website.

Thanks though!
Sam

Good to know. I was also looking at his 'All American' (1/2 giant, 1/4 blue, 1/4 red). I've heard and seen good things about them, but they are still so new, that we don't know much about them as adults.

Something people often forget is that tegus are polymorphic, there's a HUGE variety in their appearance(even within a single clutch). Things get especially crazy when you combine the genes of 3 different color types(all american). I've seen all americans that are super light with purple highlights and I've seen some that look almost like a dark B&W. When they're babies GUs from any given clutch all look basically the same but after the first year or two you'd be hard pressed to pick siblings from a line-up.
