    Question Connecting flexwatt to wood?

Is there any way to connect it to wood safely? I was thinking something like laying down plexiglass then the flexwatt and covering the flexwatt with plexiglass and sealing it? (of course also have a thermostat)

You cannot run flexwatt with out a t-stat and at the typical operating temps (under 100º) there is little to no worry about catching wood on fire. It is likely the flexwatt would melt and short before that happened anyway. If you are concerned buy a back up / fail safe T-stat that will keep the animal (s) safe if the primary fails and keep the flexwatt with in a safe working temp.

What's wrong with just taping it down to the wood, plugging it into a thermostat and sitting the enclosure on it.

I have mine set down on wood with the sticky vinyl tile on top. It works perfectly fine! No burning, smells or over heating.
Then I'm tiny like a door mouse
    Short like a bungalow house
    Minute like a pixie
You can barely even see me

I had the same concern with the wood, varnish etc. So i put sticky tiles on the wood, flexwatt on top, and foil taped it down

It is designed as radient floor heating in a dog house it should work perhaps ceramic tile might be best. It still needs a t-stat it is not made to run with out one.
