    Question Provent A Mite Question

I already have the product, and they aren't picking up at their number. No big deal, could be occupied etc.

About 2 weeks ago I started treatment for my BP with Provent A Mite when I found what I believe to be a very early infestation: I didn't find many of them.

    My cage setup:

    - Boaphile
    - Paper towel substrate
    - Water bowl
    - Half-log
    - Shoe Box
    - Stick (grapevine) with fake plants laid on top of it

I first noticed the mites on the stick. They looked like very small pepper flakes, their bodies perhaps the width (at most) of a human hair. Thankfully I have not yet seen any that looked fat like they had been feeding.

I got Provent A mite, applied as directed and laid out the paper towel and put everything back together as normal. Forward to today where I am going to clean her up and I remove the stick/plants, and I see a mite fall off onto the paper towel. Then I saw another where it had been. Looking around more, I found another well away from any object, just cruising around on the treated paper towel.

Now I know it's been two weeks and I was going to swap it out with new, treated paper towel today, but my question is: Could they be surviving on the stick? Should I leave the stick and plants out for a month or so? Perhaps I'm not using a strong enough treatment? I have been going strictly by the instructions from them.

I took the stick/plants out and smacked it against the bottom of my bathtub a few times and two more mites fell out. I still haven't found any directly on the BP nor in any of the neighboring cages (Boa, Northern Pine Snake).

I would lose the stick. Anything that can't be sterilized. And treat again.
