    Humidity Q

Got a new bp in a 12 quart tub with belly heat. Aspen is the bedding, theres a small water dish and a hide at the back. Temps are 90-92 at the back, and 78-80 in the front. Humidity right now is at 81%.. Much too high. It seems I need to drill more holes (had 8 holes in this tub)

I have put some aspen in the tub next to it, and put 12 holes instead of 8, and humidity is 62% in that tub. So should I move her over to the other tub right now? I always let my snakes settle in for a week, is it okay for me to switch her over? Thanks.

Put more holes in the tub and monitor humidity until you get it to where you want.

It would be fine to move her into the other tub with more stable humidity. Picking her up and setting her in the new tub will take five seconds and won't be a big deal.

Thanks lol I guess Im just being nervous. I cant put more holes in the current tub shes in because I use a soldering iron and the fumes wouldn't be any good for her. Do water bowls add a lot of humidity in tubs? The tub she is in now was at 50% humidity all day, and when I put the water bowl in it shot up to 85.

^ Did you (or her if she took a dip) spill any water into the aspen? I would think that would spike humidity up more than just putting in the dish.

Is the dish very big for the tub and/or on top of the UTH/flexwatt? If the answers are yes to either, that may have spiked humidity too.

Nope I dont believe so, I was pretty diligent about not spilling water when I pulled the tubs out and I felt the area around it and it was all dry. The water bowl is on the cooler end. Hmm weird. Either way, moved her into the tub next to it, holding 60% humidity for now. Thanks for the help
