    need help!

I got some baytril from the vet today, and im supposed to give it to my bp once a day with a shot. its IM. now i have sum1 who can restrain her while i do the shot, but, im having trouble. the vet said to get the needle under a scale then tilt the needle perpendicular to the snakes body and push it in slightly so that its into the "meat". needless to say she made it look easy >.<. im having trouble telling if im under a scale or not. any tips?

P.S. the vet said i could also switch from aspen bedding to sand..... sounded a lttle off, and ive nvr heard of that b4. any thoughts? time for a new vet lol?

First off - DO NOT SWITCH TO SAND!

Secondly, I would find a new vet.

When my vet taught me to give injections, he told me to lift the needle a little and that's how you can tell if you are in. The medication he prescribes for RIs doesn't need to be injected into the muscle though. I just get it in under the skin and then inject the meds. After the first shot or two you sadly get pretty good at it.

Sounds normal to me. I usually can see a lump when I have to inject my snakes.

I hope she gets better soon.

I'm a worry wort when it comes to mine too. Anything out of the normal has me searching the internet and calling my vet.

Hope your snake gets better. I'm almost done treating mine. I was prescribed amakacin, however. For the most part, he seems to be clearing up. I do still see some saliva, though. One shot to go, then I'll see my vet and possibly continue treatment if they deem it necessary.
