    Critter Ate My Thermostat

So a Guinea Pig that had been escaping nightly and returning to its home in the day chewed the probe wire for one of my thermostats. I had a backup so the snakes are good. However, I am by no means a wiring expert. I can do a basic repair of messed up power cords but I need to know if the same techniques can be used. If not, what can I do?

    Thanks.
