    Big Boss is finally here!

    Hey Guys!
Super excited that big boss, my first ever BP, is finally here and he is a gorgeous example of a spider I can't get any pics yet though. I was going to have my husband have the camera ready so when I put him into the tub we could snap some pics without the cats getting too close but we already had a scare today.
I assumed all breeders would require a signature and I knew that the Fedex site said he would be here by 1030, so I left my bedroom door opened so that we would hear the doorbell and come running downstairs to sign for him. Well no signature was required and the fedex guy didn't even ring the doorbell (dog goes nuts if the doorbell goes off), so I assumed he hadn't been here when I got up at 1015. luckily I'm OCD and checked the fedex site again to see if the time changed and saw he had been delivered. Instead of putting him inside the door of the screened porch the fedex jerk left my poor snake in the cold rain on the stairs up to the porch. Luckily the breeder had the box in a plastic bag and a heater in the box.
well that was a long winded story. anyways I may have pics up tonight after my bigger UTH is delivered and I move the setup into the other room. I didn't think about the fact that his enclosure is at cat staring level meaning even though I have it pretty darn secured 5 rude cats could figure out a way to pull/push the enclosure out of its spot and pop open a lid.

Congrats on the new snake! When shipping a snake you never want to request for signature. Breeders expect you to know that the animal is being delivered and that you will bring it inside ASAP. Having the Fedex guy leave with the package because no one answered the door can be more stressful on the snake then sitting on the porch for a couple minutes. Anyways, get us some pics when you can!

Thanks for clearing that up, I had made the assumption since a lot of the people on faunaclassifieds put in their terms that the reptile must be signed for, for the health guarantee to apply. I'm actually glad he didn't have to be signed for since the guy didn't bother to ring the bell so we could hear him upstairs.
anywho, he ended up pooping tonight so I'm trying to get him out of his tub without getting bit and right now I'm too nervous so I'm watching vids on youtube trying to get up the courage to get him out. since the breeder hasn't emailed me back I was wondering how long after being fed do they tend to poop? trying to figure out when he was last fed so I can know when to feed him. (I'll be in the hospital mon and tues so I'm hoping I can get away with feeding him wednesday).
    and here are pics!

There really isn't a set amount of time between when a ball eats and when it poops. I can vary from a few days to about a month. Ball Pythons can go a long time without eating if necessary so wednesday should be fine. Just let your new little friend settle in before you do too much with him.

Ok that's good to know, thanks very much! Wish I could've just let him settle in for the week but of course he just had to make a poop in his enclosure. Wish he would've went in the water bowl, but at least it gave me the chance to swap out his UTH too, and now he can just chill for a awhile.

Dont be scared just go in there and grab him. I would wait a couple days so he can settle and then try feeding him. By the Way he is a good looking spider.
