    Had my fist escape

Figured I would share my morning.

Woke up this morning & checked on all my bp's & my female Mojave was gone... Of course it had to be my 5yr old daughter's favorite snake. I heard this weird popping noise last night about midnight, I went in & looked & just saw my big normal exploring so didn't think any more about it. I am assuming that popping sound was the mojave escaping out the back. Only way I can see her getting out is the tub not being centered in the rack & her having just enough space to stick her nose though. She's about 700 grams so I figured no way could she get out of a small opening of about 1/4" so I never even thought about re-enforcing it..

I finally found her after tearing apart the house for 5hrs. Somehow she found her way into my computer desk & was chilling in a box of computer fans.

I am just glad I found her! She was cold & scared, she struck at me a few times & she has never struck since I have had her. But hopefully nothing worse.

First thing after I found her was go to the hardware store & get some wood to cover the back.

Lesson of the day, never assume!

That's how I lost my butter. I assumed she wouldn't be able to get through the gap.

I'm glad you found her quickly.

Yeah I know the feeling. I came home from work one night and found that one of my het albino females had made her escape. I started ransacking the room, ready to tear the love seat apart if I had too. Well it wasn't long before I started hearing noises coming from the chest of drawers sitting in the corner. I checked inside each drawer and still no "Chloe". Anyway, I pulled all of the drawers out and found she had gotten behind the drawers. The door to that room is low enough that I knew that she had to be in there somewhere. Doesn't stop the panic from setting in though.lol I'm glad you were able to find her.

    Re: Had my fist escape

So after her escape all she does the entire night is try to get out. She is very content during the day sleeping in her hide but once the sun drops she's trying to get out. I have been handling her the last few nights to see if that will help but it hasn't. Is this normal when they escape? Or is she just being a butt..

Also when she escaped she scratched the top of her head, there is actually some skin loose. It looks like shed, no open wounds but she is not in shed so I am assuming she damaged that layer. Anyways should I be concerned about it?

    Thanks as always
