The cage was actually the old cage for chameleons from Petco, and I got it for free. Along the top I have 2 sets of 4 outlets - Plugged into one is the ceramic heat, and what's supposed to be a working red bulb for nighttime viewing that I need to replace. On the other set of outlets is a timer for a uvb bulb (mostly for the plants, which I need more of, but have been neglecting buying more dirt so that they might survive) and a daytime bulb. Down at the bottom back is a heat mat in the event that the snake decides sitting on the ground is a good idea.

Awesome gtp setup
What are the dimensions of the GTP setup? Looks awesome. Is it a certain brand or custom built?

I'm looking forward to that as well. you appear to have far more patience than I do.
to the OP, how old is your gtp? depending on its size you might consider sectioning off part of that enclosure until it is fully grown or adding more places to hide behind in order to reduce stress. regardless, very nice pick-up.

Unfortunately don't know age or locality (though from reading, my guess is sarong. - any ideas? He has a black long pointy tail). He's about 4-4.5ft long for size reference. My carpet was in this cage before, and I'm thinking I might switch them around. She's currently in a setup that's about half the size the one the gtp is in.. but she seems to use the space more than he does. He has eaten for us but other than eating well, I'm not sure what to look for for signs of GTP stress... I'm used to the bps who huff and puff when upset, and my carpet who doesn't know what stress is.
As for actual dimensions, it's probably around 4 feet tall by 30 inches wide and around 2 feet from front to back. It's an awkward shape, and was a pain to get up the stairs and through the door.

I only meant to enquire after his size; age was just my imprecise method. if he's an adult, that enclosure should be adequate, albeit a little on the large side to maintain proper husbandry for GTPs.
don't let chrondos fool you though: while they do just fine in enclosures ranging from a 24" cube to a quasi-terrestrial 4'x2'x2' cage, they will utilize the space you give them if their husbandry is accurate. you just might not see them do it. I've had more than a few insomnia-induced glimpses of my adult GTP exploring parts of his cage that I never thought he needed.
my last parting thought is that yours doesn't quite strike me as a sorong. the pattern is close, but they're not the only locality with a pigmented tail. I'm certainly no expert, nor do I think locality matters in the long run unless you're a breeder or wind up with a biak, but yours doesn't seem like a sorong.
how's his temperament?

Yeah I've seen him move and he's eaten, but I suppose I'll have to give him some time to see if I need to alter anything as far as husbandry. He has lots of options both horizontally and vertically for regulating at least. I'm just so used to seeing my carpet start hunting soon as the lights go out. She never moves during the day either.
His temperament is great. With some gentle coaxing he'll come out, no hissing or sighing and he doesn't fight coming out. Once he's out he cruises around for a little bit to explore then picks a good spot just to hang out.
