skin lesions
Hello, I'm new to this forum. I am a semi-advanced herp hobbyist. I breed smoking hot bearded dragons, have bred cornsnakes and leopards. I currently am growing up 2 irian jaya carpet pythons, 2 albino and 1 het albino red tailed boas, a spider and a jungle vanilla pastel ball python for future breedng.
Well, about 5 months ago, my vanilla ball Wilma got out of her tank. We just found her 2 weeks ago, skinny and very dehydrated. Anyway, she ate after a few days and just shed the other day, well I took her out and notced some skinlesions, most are superficial but one is kind of bad. None are infected but I was wondering if I should take out her substrate (aspen) and neosporin her up or let it be seems how she is not in discomfort or infected.
My theory is she had a 2 or 3 layer shed and being so dehydrated it ripped her skin. Anyway, on with the pix....
This is the worst spot...

These pix arejust for looks...

Thank you in advance for any sugestions

Re: skin lesions
I would absolutely take out the aspen and get her on paper. The smaller ones look like they should heal on their own, but that big one looks icky. I'd be taking mine to the vet, if it were me.
Neosporin might help in the meantime...just make sure it has NO pain reliever mixed into it.
EDIT: Oh! And welcome to BP.net!!

Welcome.
I would bring her to a vet.
Edit: oh and definitely get her on paper towel.

Paper towels! Paper towels! I'd change them every day regardless of whether or not she "uses" them for bathroom purposes....
Neosporin yes, with no pain killers. don't apply copious amounts without a vet's say so, I'd just do a small dab with a sterile q-tip.
And I'd get her to a vet, because the top one is looking quite green and icky. It doesn't take long to go from a clean cut to an infected cut.
Best of luck.

Thats not healed, thats a scab, and a very faint one at that.
Wounds on snakes take a little bit of time to heal
Keep the wounds clean

That is skin, not scab. I know it is not 100%, but it is amazing progress after 6 days none the less
It went from nickel size, to half a dime size.
