How long can I leave an infrared light on?

Like the title says. I have one in a dome/clamp lamp, it is 100W. I have it connected to a dimmer. The top of my tanks is Mesh with most of it covered in tinfoil and duct tape over that. There is a cut out for the lamp to shine into the enclosure. I am just paranoid that leaving my house with it on Ill come home and it no longer be a home haha

i've had a 75 watt IR lamp running for a few months now, but I've had mine hooked up to a herpstat to regulate the temperature.
