    Chin/neck markins

There is a spider I am looking at buying, but I was wondering how common it is for bps to have marks on ther chin and underside of their neck. I'll get a photo up later once I'm home to show this guy specifically... but he has symmetrical spider-web like black lines. I haven't seen this before... but does anybody else have photos of patterns on the underside of the chin/head? How common is this?

Is it a crease under the lower jaw?? If so, that's normal, its how the "skin" stretches when eating large meals

Nope, not the crease. It's bold black markings that web out over the entire bottom of his jaw. doesn't look like a burn, and is symmetrical. It can be seen when he's not eating just by turning his head over, and the marks sort of stretch out but become detached if you move the skin around (markings are on the scales, not on the skin underneath)

Sorry, took me a while to find the photos, but here they are:

Anybody else seen a ball python with markings like these?

Oh yeah, that is normal. Our male spider has similar markings. I'd take pics for ya to compare, but he is being a butthead right now. He only has two things on his mind. Pretty lady snakes and trying to bite me whenever I open his tub.

Lol sounds like my boy hognose. You walk into the same room and he's bashing his face against the tub at you, putting up quite the show.

Are the chin markings more of a spider thing, or do other morphs have them as well? I mean it makes sense I haven't seen it except for on this snake in person.. since everybody takes photos of belly shots or top shots all coiled up. Chins aren't typicallly a priority for photos.

I'll check our female spider tomorrow and see if she has it too. None of our other morphs have it for sure, but like you said, chins aren't a priority usually.

A lot of the spiders I produced have it. My daddy bee doesn't though. Think it's just one of those random spider things.
