    Thermometer and Wires Inside?

I'm beginning to set up my enclosure for my ball python (which I don't have yet, but am getting soon) and I was wondering what to do about the probe wires. I have a digital therm/hygro with 2 probes, one for temp and one for humidity. It also reads temp from a sensor on the unit so it reads temp in 2 places. I want to put the unit inside the cage that way I can have the temp on both sides of the cage but is that safe? Would it be ok to velcro the unit to the cage wall on one side and then run the wires under the substrate taped to the floor? Im just worried about all the extra wire considering each probe cord is 6 ft. How would you set it up? Thanks for your help!

This is the unit I have: http://www.bigappleherp.com/Big-Appl...umidity-Gauges
