    hybrid breeding question

first of all i am not going to try this. i'm only asking this out of curiosity.

i was looking at the burmballs and was wondering how the breeding went. would you have to breed a male burm to a female ball? would the eggs be larger? is there a risk of injuring the female bp by doing this?

could a male bp breed with a female burm? even a large burm?

would genetics be passed down the same? could a burmXpied bp produce burmballs het for piebald? could those be bred to produce piebald burmballs?

when i saw those for the first time the image of a chihuahua and a mastiff popped into my head.

    Re: hybrid breeding question

the one story i know, which im not saying is correct, is that a guy had a pair of burms he was breeding in the same enclosure (ofcourse). he supposedly had a male BP that he didnt have anywhere to put, so he threw it in with the two burms as a temporary enclosure, and the male bp and the female burm breed to make burmballs. i have no idea how accurate this story is, but its the only one ive heard, idk about the egg size or anything else though

That is the story I read as well. I believe the rule of thumb is to use the larger female so if the eggs are like the larger species they wouldn't hurt the female - or at least that's the theory. This is just from my minimal research though.
